We've done the prep work for you! Our delicious hamburger patties are made with our extra lean ground beef and won't lose their size when grilled. 4 patties per package; choose from 1/4 lb or 1/3 lb.
Our Story
John & Sue Ebensberger are high school sweethearts from Clinton, Iowa. They moved to Greene in 1982 for John to take ownership of the medical clinic in town. There they raised their two children, Jason & Teresa.
In 1999, they moved to the country to start a hobby farm - a dream of John's as he grew up on a farm. The Ebensberger's would butcher the cows on the farm for themselves and family & friends.
After years of rave reviews over the beef they were producing, West Forty (40 acres west of town) was born!
We have been selling individual cuts and custom wholesale options in Greene since 2013 and Des Moines since 2016. We are a full time vendor at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market every year and offer delivery year-round.
In September 2019, the Ebensberger's purchased the grocery store in Greene, renaming it West Forty Market. You can find all of our beef, pork & poultry at the store!
